HOW WE STARTED - FOOD TRAILER

It all started when my husband, Ignacio, decided to transform a horse float into a food trailer after lockdown of 2020.
He commenced the transformation by firstly restoring the trailer structure and then moving onto the insulation, interior panels, electrical connection, the installation of the generator and completing the painting. After a couple of months of hard work, the Mariana's Kitchen food trailer was born!

We started off very small and parking at the end of Eastbourne in Wellington. Slowly, we started to participate in markets and growing our audience. Eventually we took part in festivals like the Newtown Fair and CubaDupa in 2021, which were huge for us!

We have since sold the trailer and moved into a more permanent location; being our kiosk located in the Petone Foreshore Playground Kiosk in June of 2021. This has allowed for us to expand by adding a new menu, a barista coffee machine and a new audience. Having a bigger workspace and a new system for the shop, has also enabled us to continue doing markets as well as keep our kiosk open. Now more people are able to come and enjoy our flavours!
